Tickling little computer thingies

Now - this is far too frivolous a topic to go in the "proper" computer forum - so I will ask it here.....

You know when you are online those two little computers appear and they light up when information is being transmitted, right?

Well, I swear when the information flow has got stuck somehow, that "tickling" the little computer thingies with your cursor often gets things moving again.

Am I nuts, or has anyone else noticed this?

You are 100% correct!
Your 'puter is doing multiple things and has to split up it's resources between them. Opening the connection status box causes it to come up to the foreground and usually the task in the foreground gets the highest priority for resouces so when you open the status box your PC starts paying more attention to your connection and less to other tasks running.

I've found that doing that helps in about 50% of the cases where pages are loading slowly.

Edited to correct a spelling error becuase.. Well.. because I can! Smile

You know Deb, I don't spend all my time playing in your digressions! Sometimes I post quasi-serious stuff even. Razz When someone posts a question about tickling their 'puter well.. How could I pass that up?

Me? No play? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You're kidding right?

You do know who I am right? I mean, I was once mistaken for someone else and thought to be someone whence I am not, which created an major confusion for a tad bit but, alas, I was not he whom they thought I was so the conundrum eventally cleared itself... but.. I digress.. Very Happy

Er .... Fishin' - you're Fishin', right?

There was a young fisher named Fisher,
Went fishin' for fish in a fissure,
When a fish, with a grin,
Pulled that fisherman in,
Now they're fishin' the fissure for Fisher.

I'm sure we could come to some sort of mutual understanding deb! Maybe we could find a nicely forested area (or maybe you are a field rabbit??) along the shore of some large body of saltwater for our clicking trysts. I here there are some fab resorts out amongst the islands of the Pacific. We could just meet on teh beaches in the evenings and well.. click click click Ooo-la-la... lmao

(silly me, I thought ehBeth's little Avatar was a little bambi amongst the flowers! Surprised)

Fishin' - I don't THINK I am a meadow sort of bunny!
