How do I protect a new product name?

If I come up with a new product and want to call it something unique (maybe something like "the Super Salad Shredder"), how can I protect it? By the way, it isn't the "Super Salad Shredder". Thanks.

You establish a Trademark through the Patent Office.

Start here. US patent and trademark office.

Get your wallet out too. It's pretty expensive.
