I don't know why you refused to use the bootable floppy disk and then used FDISK?
Did you create a partition and make it active and format it?

As for the CD, I don't know but try another letter.

What drive letter is your floppy image portion of the bootable CD assigning the CD-ROM drive to? (Check the mscdex.exe line in your autoexec.bat file on the floppy.)

At the DOS prompt you can always start at C: and work your way up until you find it. It is probably C: [if your hard drive partition is NTFS, as DOS won't be able to read it] or D:. Where'd you get the drive letter G: from?

The drives you see in DOS will not necessarily use the same drive letters assigned to them in Windows.

After Fdisk and formatting the drive---> boot from the floppy and do this dude. :-()

At the a:\ type c:
then type md c:\win98 Then (enter)
from here typer cd win98
then type copy e:\win98/e
You will have it all if you
get 101 cab files copied .After confirmation remove the win98 cd and the floppy from the drives and type the word setup and press (enter)

*********Check it ----> Replace the letter e with whatever your computers cd rom drive would correspond to. Its as simple as I can make it ,and if the cdrom is working you should have no problem .

Why are you & Cyanure talking about FDisk? Confused Usman Ghani was not asking for help with partitioning his hard drives or actually going through the Windows setup process, but rather the issue (as far as I've understood it) is getting his custom made bootable setup CD working.

Your instructions may be as simple as you're able to make them, but they have nothing to do with what UG was asking about.
