A question titled "HELP".

Or a Post an Article spammer.

Or a Militant Muslim with quotable Korans on each hip.

12 days ago, timberlandko made us aware when he wrote:
Another A2K milestone's coming up somewhere around 5 or 6 weeks from now; we're gonna get our 2,000,000th post.

Eva made it interesting when she wrote:
Five bucks says it's gonna be either a <LOL> or an emoticon.

nimh raised the ante when he wrote:
Seven that its going to be something about God, the absence of God or the meaning of life.

snood saw nimh's, and raised him when he wrote:
Seven fifty that it's gonna be a jibe from one member to another.

I sportingly took a stab at it when I wrote:
Riddle or Latin Translation help... $7.75

Noddy24 threw in her wager when she wrote:

well, here it is folks.

i give you... post #2,000,000 !!
Who said it was for the purpose of impressing the "ladies?" There they go again with the sexist, mysoginistic comments from the peanut head gallery. Quit while you're behind 'cause the hole is already twenty-feet deep. This thread has been in subjective limbo for several weeks -- a little jarring with some diversion into other subjects won't hurt a bit.

The emoticons are helpful if one is not being serious. I never had a lot of respect for Edison when he tried playing big business man on top of inventing practically everything (in his own mind Very Happy ) His devotion to DC was really short sighted and he wasn't as much a scientist as he was a would-be marketing maven.
now for the ruling on the field...

its a 2-way tie between nimh & Snood, with Eva getting honorable mention:

nimh correctly guessed the post would be religious in nature.
Snood was right on the ball when he predicted someone would take a swipe at someone else.
Eva, you were correct in a sense, because an emoticon was used Smile

HA! Nimh & Snood were right!

Bring on the trophy!
(I wonder if they will share it or fight over it?)

(An honorable mention is more than I deserve, RP, but thanks.)

Eh, eh ... ah, eh ...

Snood!! I think only you are the rightful deservant of this particular, gorgeous prize! I wouldnt dream of claiming it for myself! After all, Light's post was more of a jibe than actually about spirituality & religion ... so, I'm honored just to be able to leave this prize to you!

You are both overly cautious. The 60,000 member will appear by high noon on Bastille Day, June 14.

Noddy still has half a chance since Bastille Day is July 14 not June 14.

I notice this thread stats with "Edited by Moderator". What sort of juicy tidbits did the moderator chop out?

NickFun--

You do keep looking for the feelthy pictures, don't you?

To save bandwidth--or whatever one saves by simplification--members no longer have the tools to edit their headings. Only moderators can make changes.

Yeah ... useta be members could edit their own posts, and if an member edited a post, an edit notation was appended to it if the post was not the last post in a thread. For whatever reason, server load, I think, more than bandwidth, now members can only edit their own posts if the post to be edited is the last in the thread. I'm gonna guess that "back in the days", the 1st post's author updated it as the countdown to member 25K went on ... in fact I think I recall that; where the "WOW" banner is, I think, useta be a "xxxx-to-go" comment whch would be periodically adjusted to reflect the current satus as time passed following the initial posting ... I think. Makes sense, anyhow, and I'm stickin' with it.
