A female friend of mine felt this poem was self pity at the hifhest level what do you think? she is the one who suggested (fate)

Delve into my eyes,
Predict my faith (FATE), which I must face,
A grand rise or a tragic demise,
Fame and fortune or poverty and triviality.

Life- is a road wide and long
Many directions, choices.
No! Life is an ocean, free from restriction
Broad and vast with no direction
A chosen route, or not, an adventure,
My heart proud a strengthened purpose.

My life is an Island place, lost in an ocean,
No country, No Cause.
Ascertain my faith (FATE), I am found.
Espy failure, one shall fail

I think self-pity is a bit harsh. This is more self-exploratory, and it's not bad!
