The Classroom
I gaze at the binded pages,
Year to understand, craving knowledge.
Listening to comrades, dearth of passion,
A necessity for intellectual tête-à-tête,
But confined to reason.
How do I abscond from my imprisoned mind?
Through expression of thought,
Without restriction, without reservation,
Articulate aloud with conviction,
But only I can fathom,
My comrades listen, devoid of comprehension.
Classroom II: Jane
Mute, dumb, frustration apparent,
How I feel listening to colleagues,
Swish and whisper, laugh and joke,
Sound is all around. I choke.
Annoyance, stop listen, learn and reflect.
Excitement and passion enthrals my heart,
To hear the voice of our mentor,
Proclaim, speak, I, attentive.
Not enforcement of knowledge, for benefit
She bestows, for joy,
Expansion of mind,
Satisfaction, she seeks, let they allow for nothingness
Maturity, with age?
Oblivious, to their minds,
I accept, graciously her gift.
Appreciative, she will never know.
Reminds me of my very earliest observational work! Keep plugging away!
