White growth in a compartment in my car. Mold?

There's a little compartment under the radio of my car that I never really used. It was always slimy on the inside, and that always freaked me out a little, so I just kept the thing closed and left it alone.

Over time, I started noticing this white, fungus-looking stuff growing inside of it, but I left that alone as well-- more out of laziness than reason. Recently, I cleaned the stuff out. Now, it could be in my head, or from the bleach that I used, but I noticed that I was a little dizzy and foggy for a hot minute during and after cleaning it. That certainly doesn't make me very comfortable.

I've bleached it and put baking soda in the compartment to deal with the moisture, but I took this picture beforehand: http://imgur.com/a/nd4Or

If anyone has any idea what the stuff mightv'e been, I'd be grateful to know.

@JimsCatToy,
Could be mold or perhaps some sound/heat proofing material. If you've cleaned with bleach, that should handle it.

But yes, bleach can be expected to make you feel dizzy, light-headed or foggy if you're in an enclosed area. It does that to me every time.
