Need help identifying artist - 2nd piece

Can you take better pictures and tell SOMETHING about it? size, medium, any history you may have.

Found in home I purchased. It appears to be a painting on canvas. A little smaller than 8.5" x 11". It's framed. Framing has hand-forged nails. The signature looks like L.A. Simonson (or Simonsen) - the horizontal stroke of the L is connected to the S in Simonson, with the A below the baseline of the same horizontal stroke.
