I have an appointment with a lawyer but that is a few weeks away and my curiosity is killing me.
I just found out thru a very detailed and expensive title search that a city sewer line, water line, and storm drain are running thru my property which is registered land court property in the state of MA with no taking on record.Actually other than the engineering dept and sewer dept there is no other info on it.The lines are 700 feet long and there are over 1100 homes served by it.
What must be done by the city to fix this issue. I assume they need to do a taking? How long does this take and how can I move it along?

Thanks
Steve

Utility easments in MA are controlled at the municiple level so you'd have to find your towns municiple code and find out what they'd have to do in there. Your Town's Planning Board should be able to direct you to the appropriate sections.
