just the opposite this year, and none of the games were close...

Question:
Are there different point values for correct picks in the various rounds,
Wild Card, Division, Conference, and Super Bowl?

@tsarstepan,
I'm only clear about one match selection (Pats).
I'm leaning in one other ... strongly .

the other choices are coin flips.

@realjohnboy,

The goal here, of course, is to hit a home run by picking the eventual
winner of the Superbowl and be awarded the coveted yellow jersey.
But there is a secondary game. Players are awarded points for successful
picks along the road.

For example, in the four wildcard games players get one point for each
correct guess PLUS an extra four points if they choose all of the games right.

I had forgotten the four-point bonus. So the scores at this time are:
Code:Player Points
Region 4+4=8
CowDoc 4+4=8
George 4+4=8
Ragman 4+4=8
edgarblythe 4+4=8
Rhys 4+4=8
Miz Cowdoc 4+4=8
realjohnboy 4+4=8
Pistorius 4+4=8
ossobuco 3
ehBeth 3
McGentrix 3
fbaezer 3
Lightning22 3
tsarstepan 3
ticomaya 3
Kolyo 2
CoastalRat 2

I just found the rules from last year's game when I found them from the
year before that when ehBeth posted them from the year before when
realjohnboy adapted them from the year before that. That's clear, right?

Your objective in this game is to successfully pick the Super Bowl winner.
If you can do that, you win.
But most of us won't be able to do that. Deep sighs.
Not to worry! There is more to this game!

You collect points along the way for correct picks.

You may not get the Super Bowl champion but you can end up with MORE
CUMULATIVE POINTS than most other players.

Here is how it works:

- You get 1 point for each correct pick in the 4 Wild Card games...

- Plus you get 4 points if you get all 4 games right.

Then, you get 2 points for each game you get right in the first round of
the playoffs...

and 4 points for predicting the winners in next round

and 8 points for correctly choosing the Super Bowl champion.

I tried this formula out last season. As the huckster-in-chief, my objective
was/is to keep folks interested. I have only one minor adjustment this time.

Aren't we expected to pick now all the way through the Superbowl?
