Even though my cell's autocorrect proudly offers "Hawking" every time I input h-a-w-k, I blustered forth with Hawkins during a recent post. Couldn't tell you why.

In my efforts to stave off the expected cognitive downward slippery slope as I age, I've instituted math practice and learning into my routine.

The Hawkins thing pissed me off, so I'm going to do a bit of research on other methods of helping my brain hang on in these last years.

I think what we eat and drink is probably pretty powerful.

Feel free to add anything you deem useful.

@centrox,
On purpose this time-you'll understand if you read. Wink

And here is another link to fighting cognitive decline.

I personally think that auto correct has a lot to answer for. I am only in my 60s and I already perceive an increase in the number of errors I make when typing. I do suspect that it is time to see if my eyeglasses need changing.

Strangely (to some, not others), when I enter HAWKI it automatically offers Hawkings. As was indicated though, just shut the autocorrect off if it's a troubler.

@Sturgis,

I think maybe the name has a curse... or some deep voodoo left over from the Big Bang.

@Sturgis,
In my initial case, on another thread title, I made my mistake despite autocorrect instead of my preferred method, which is Russian interloping.

@Lash,
I often write the word payed when I mean paid. I even did a thread about it. Nothing helps.

@edgarblythe,
If a thread about it didn't help, I'll just give way to apoplexy.
