Can you help me to find a movie?

I been looking arround about 2 days to find one movie that I saw in my childhood, but I dont temember most of it, It's about alien invasion, I remember these things:
- A person that will travel in train and need a passport
- In the travel he/she sees a Tripod alien from far in the mountains, like the ones in The War of the Worlds, and they make a horn noise pretty similar

Aaand thats it... as I said, I dont remember too much but I'm pretty sure that I like it a lot.

Also, if you know some movie that have tripods alien and/or alien horns tell me.
