On my trusty old word processer the was a key called "reformat" I could tap when the the sentences got all cockamaimy on the page and shazamm, all that mess formed into nice complete lines and paragraphs of text again. This mess always reults when I copy and paste from "notepad" and sometimes from "microsoft word" too so I go line by line with the delete key to manually get everything back in order. Surely there's a better way. Does my computer have any kind of "reformat" trick?

Hmmm, if this exists, it's likely it would be in your word processing program. What do you have? If you have Word, there are formatting commands - perhaps not as 1-stop-shopping as you indicate, but you can probably get the results you need in a couple of steps.
