I watch the people trying so hard everyday.
But I see their hopes fade farther away.
Still smiling, to show some pride.
Don't want anyone to know their spirit has died.
Working so hard to catch up, I watch them fall.
They climb so high, just to lose it all.
But everyday they must move on.
And everyday they do, is wrong.
We as human beings should not have to live like this. Many of us do.
And it's sick, what this world has come down to.
We shouldn't have to be slaves to our own misfortunes.
And anyone who laughs it off, is really crying deep inside.
Hiding our emotions is as bad as any lie.
That is quite sad, Stand Up, but it speaks to me. Nice.
Thank you, and welcome to a2k!
Thank you for your greeting. Can you tell me where you find inspiration for verse? Does it come into your head at any moment - shopping, in the bath, walking the dog, or do you sit down and deliberately create? I have little in the way of creative thought in a literary sense, but I do compose music. Music comes to me at any time I am awake, and even in a dream once!
I am also a musician, I write my own songs, play them, and slightly record them. I never force my work. I beleive that good writing comes naturally. My emotions play a good part in the pieces I create. Thanks for asking! Have you posted any original writing yet?
This is a song of pain - third person. Very well done, Pessimist!
I have noticed StandUp that (as I said in another of your original pieces) that alot of your work would work well as songs. This one also. Cool.
(sorry StandUp, but I want to say hi to kelly from a fellow North Yorkshireman. That's all. Sorry. No more digression.)
