Days and dates how they were established in different cultures.
The Calendars
Several Calandars
Thanks Joanne - I love the Calendar Zone.
And the U.S. Naval Observatory site, used to live not far from it. A couple of years ago they provided the most lucid, reasoned article on why 1/1/2001 was the start of the new millenium, not 2000. I sent it to approximately 10,000 crazed individuals, to no avail.
U.S. Naval Observatory
Yes, all over the DC/Va/Md area. At that time I was in NW D.C. near Connecticut Ave. Also, Capitol Hill, Falls Church, Alexandria, College Park, Rockville, Silver Spring. I moved a lot.
Well lets see now, Virginia Falls Church, Annandale 1976-1778, North Springfield !978-1995. Fredericksbrug, VA part of 1996 and 1997. Then Silver Spring 11&12/2000 and 10/2001 through 7/2002 Garette Park and Rockville. In between those dates I lived in Austin, TX, Oakland, CA, San Diego, CA. Hmm, I think I have moved a lot too.
Wow! Sounds fun, or exhausting. I have only been back there once in the last few years for a visit, but I miss it - great years I spent there, working in downtown DC. I hope to escape this cultural wasteland for civilisation someday soon.
chinese new year coming up feb. 1st.
jd, you look great for your age, annandale 1976-1778
i used to live across the bay from you, in san mateo
Silly pueo you know I meant Annadale, VA not CA.
Why not post the calendars in the Reference Links, Joanne? This looks like something that might be hard to find otherwise.
