Nah. You're not floundering, Letty. The (o d a d )are correct. You just need the first letter. I never heard the word before.

Oh, my gawd, panz. I forgot that you ARE a surfer. Never heard that expression before in my life. Of course, I've never surfed in my life, either.

What on earth does Hodad mean? (I've been stuck in the bustling city) although, I did try surfing once. (lol)

a hodad is a wannabe surfer trying to pick up chicks. No wonder we didn't get it, Raggedy.

Just wondering if anyone has worked the NYT "You Will Be Missed" puzzle yet. There is no clue listed for 23 Across, i.e. there is no 23 Across. I've worked everything, but that section.

Thanks Roberta. That's what I thought. My paper has Laird or Thane? for 22 across, but the answer for Laird or Thane worked out in 23 across. But, I have no idea what the question is for 22 across. have "asor_". (lol)

No, Letty. Don't let that clue lead you astray. (lol)
As for Love Connection, after 2 days of mulling over it, I never did get 77 across. I'm kicking myself now. (lol)

Thanks Roberta. It helps when one knows what the question is, with the exception of Dr. Ruth. I had forgotten her completely. (lol)

Raggedy, She didn't exactly spring to my mind immediately. I struggled over there for a while. What or who begins with dr I kept asking myself. Finally figured it out.

Hey Raggedy and Roberta. I think Love Connection is sorta boring. Haven't finished it yet.

One of the easier ones, Letty? Or are you just getting too smart? I never heard of 121 Across and like Roberta, I just couldn't figure out a diminutive advice-giver beginning with dr.

Too smart? I wish, Raggedy. I don't even understand the theme. When I say boring, that means hard without being challenging.

When you've completed the puzzle, maybe Roberta can explain the "Love Connection". I didn't get it either. (lol)
