Just wondering how many of you experienced this, and what kind.
I have a roomate who has this. He sees words as colors. Also, numbers have feelings. It is most starnge.
I did way more when I was smaller. Music as colours, mainly - and people had a signature colour - some more so than others.
I read in a book once that someone who was extremely experienced in meditation could tweak their mind so they could have this experience. Just a matter of letting go of the barriers between two sensations.
hmmm... that or a psychotropic plant. :-)
Yes, that too. I also read in the same book that synesthesia and other experiences felt on certain drugs can be experienced in a controled state under meditation. It went on and on about all of the different types things one can do while meditating, pages and pages, and then at the end warned that only advanced individuals could do such things and they shouldn't be attempted without a guide or companion or something.
What a shameful way to try and get people to meditate, waving psychedelic experiences in front of their noses.
"...warned that only advanced individuals could do such things and they shouldn't be attempted without a guide or companion or something..." ... and those "advanced" enough to do such things, don't find them necessary, nor worth the effort.
Yeah, I figured that too.
a lot of poets use synaesthetic images.....
"the burnt out ends of long smoky days"....
"the golden notes of the trombone" etcetera......
