Changing the default port for Remote Desktop

I have a WinXP computer at home behind a D-Link 4 port router. I'm using a WinXP computer here at work, and I'm trying to remote to my home computer.

I went into the regedit and changed the listening port for remote desktop - I also closed the standard 3389 port for remote desktop, and opened another one on the router (65345 - I randomly selected it). Now, when I try to connect using remote desktop from work, I put the IP into the remore desktop connect window like: xxx.xx.xxx.xx:65345

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something else I can try?
