I've never looked through a telescope or made time for one. Its always been a silly dream of mine since I was a kid. I would like to share this experience with my little girl. How much do I have to spend to get something I can actually see out of. Money is sort of tight, so I will have to save up. I don't want to buy something junky, and be disappointed, How much is this going to set me back..lol. Id rather save, and get it right, then spend twice a much to finally get it right.

Borrow a pair of binoculars and do some homework on where to look.
Spend an evening on the rooftop or in the backyard chatting about the stars.
Visit an observatory.
