You can talk about persons with mental and learning disabilities all you want. They probably welcome a well thought out and respectful discourse. Just be respectful and not oversimplify those individuals afflicted with these life long conditions.

First and foremost, recognize that retardation is an obsolete stigmatization that should be avoided like the N word in any situation regarding African Americans as people, individuals, and a collective culture.
