do you remember the day
the day we danced in the rain
the days our souls became one
do you remember the day
the day we laughed at nothing
the day our lives were entertwined
do you remember the day
the day we cried for our loss
the day we bared our spirits
do you remember the day
the day that all was forgotten
the day my eyes shed no tears
the day my life went to war
no longer do the days come
my mind sits in silent slumber
time but a constant memory of what was left behind
do you remember the day
or do you choose to forget
I like the subtle imagry shifting between fond memories and the implications of the present sadness.
