Photoshop or another?

I think I'm still using 5.5 too but everyone tells me I need 7 for the "heal" tool. I don't do a lot of fancy stuff though, so I don't know if I can help. What are you trying to do?

hi husker I have been using photoshop for many years...I have moved from 4 to 6 to 7, tried a few other programs like PSP cand coreldraw (i think its called), but photoshop is really the only thing I use

by the way if you are too cheap for photoshop I hear GIMP is a good free program that can do a lot of the same things...but im not speaking from experience there.

You should check out Photoshop Elements. I think it only lacks CMYK support. And I doubt you would care about that. And it is really cheap. $99 USD and $50 EDU

While I totally support OSS the Gimp doesn't come close. It is great for free software.

And for a great time buy a cheap Wacom tablet. They are great. I can't draw with a mouse..
