How did you perceive the mother of Luke Skywalker, amidst the prequels?

Padme, seemed to be a typical American white girl in fancy costume and belonging to a mixed culture that reminds us of the Orient.

I've perceived the character time and time again, especially during TPM.
The perception usually arises when I think of Luke and Leia (or just Luke).

What I'd really like is for Padme to be referenced during the sequel trilogy; it makes sense because of ROTJ.
