Is The Conjuring greater than The Exorcist?

Ya it is !! And is Thrilling to watch !

The Conjuring has only the slight edge over The Exorcist because of the characters; TE has great characters, but TC has more of them.

Almost any movie ever made is better than the Exorcist.

Why don't you like The Exorcist?

Me? Not as much as most people. I rated it a sign of disappointment with a 6/10 on IMDb.

Aside from promoting exorcism as something viable, it is repulsive to watch and listen to. I did not get halfway through before I turned away from it.

6/10 is actually okay, relatively speaking.
I'd rate The Conjuring 9/10, and TE 8.5/10.

It's funny you say that, because I recently watched The Conjuring 2 and thought that its biggest sin was to make religion enticing (I'm not actually anti-religion, just that I like to keep a logical perspective); the villains of The Conjuring series are excellent.

Yes, for me it is conjuring.

The closet jump is the defining moment of the film.
The death of the family dog actually becomes sadder and more meaningful in retrospect, despite being something of a cliché (or is it?).


What are some other horror movies you like?

Heh, promoting exorcism as something viable. It's a horror movie with fantasy characters like the Devil, Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street series, Michael Myers from Holloween,etc.

The Exorcist was very well done and conveyed an earnestness not found in too many horror movies.

Everybody has their own views. To some it's art. To me it's vile crap.
