Hi,
I'm wondering if someone can help me with a problem related to eliminating files from my internet Browser's cache. I'm using Opera 7.0.
I recently installed a new anti-virus software (BitDefender 7.2). It was suggested that I try to test the effectiveness of my new AV software by downloading a test virus from EICAR.org. The downloaded file is called Eicar Test File and is not actually a virus. I did this and my firewall (ZoneLabs Pro) nailed it.
Here's the problem. There are four files which I cannot delete from my browser's cache. Every time, I launch Opera, a BitDefender warning pops up informing me of the presence of a "virus" despite the four files being safe. The pop-up won't go away until I click OK about 50 times. I have tried to delete these files from my cache to no avail.
The path to these files is:
C:\documents and settings\mike\application data\opera\opera7\profile\cache4
I'd be super-appreciative to anyone who can offer a technique to permanently delete these four files from my machine.
Thanks very much. Best regards.
Mike
Try to delete them in safe mode
Thanks Cyanure. Forgive me here but how do I put my machine in safe mode?
I should know that...oops
