I have Win200Pro. Am wondering if since I have Internet Explorer 6, can i download a new browser while leaving IE6 on computer?? I seem to be having trouble with some webpages fully loading. Think that something got corrupted on my IE6. Would either like to reinstall IE6 or just try another one.

Howdy:

Sure, put on as many as you want.. I know many that use Netscape or Mozilla, Firefox, etc alongside IE..

Actually, you cannot "uninstall" Internet Explorer becauase the IE engine is part of the operating system. You might be able to remove the GUI windowy thingie, but the actually engine stays on the system (and is used for other thigns, such as ActiveX inside Windows Media Player or the HTML help).

thanks Hihp, but I didn't want to uninstall it, just use something else to see what the difference is and see if something is better. Am having problems with pages not loading all the way and files are missing and BHO's and etc. But now I am having problems installing another browser because of those files missing. I think I will never use HijackThis again----I may have deleted or fixed something I shouldn't have and now I am screwed. All I want is something that will help me locate those missing files and correct errors that I have without paying out for it. Thanks again.

Hi. My default browser is FireFox 0.9.3. It works great on Win2000.

Well finally got it all straightened out. Stupid me didn't know that a new program I had downloaded had it's "Banner Block" on. It was blocking all icons and pictures and such on websites. It's the program called SECRETMAKER. Turned it off and BAM everything worked fine. Thanks to all.

Anyone know if I really need this--------Recommended Hotfix -421701D It's listed as a BHO. Am wondering if I really need it because I can't find it on Microsoft anymore. And it's been deleted from my computer.

Firefox 1.0 is out.

(You do not have to uninstall older versions before installing the public version 1.0.)

Finally the browser reached the 1.0 Release. I use it since Firebird 0.6.
(OS: Mandrake Linux)
Firefox is just the best browser presently.
