Firewalls????

Forgot to say I have Windows2000 Pro

Is this a stand-alone home system or a work system??

I guess it's a stand alone. It's my personal computer, not hooked to any other. I just wondered if there is already a firewall put on these things, like thru windows or whatever. I already downloaded Sygate's free firewall today.
Reason why I was trying to find out was because I am having problems with webpages finishing loading. Like I will get MSN and it will leave 1 item loading and never finish. Thought maybe something was stopping it. But now I may have found that some BHO or other was corrupted or removed.

Only XP has a built-in firewall..
