We just saw our second "professional assasin" movie in a month the last one being colateral. Of course "Hombre En Llamas" as it's called here was way more exiting. I was dissapointed that Cristofer Walken got short shrift as a character. He deserves better Micky Rourk too. Something went over our heads. What was the point of the kidnapping if Mark Anthony was in on it? Did he need to show a huge financial loss for some reason?

There were enough holes in the plot to sell as Swiss cheese and it only did a moderate box office in the U.S. which I would imagine was mainly due to Denzel Washington. If the violence wasn't gratuitous, it was certainly close to it. Mark Anthony should stick to singing (well, I'm not exactly a fan of his singing either).

Personally, I did enjoy it, but it didn't left me with anything else than some complaints about some unjustified scenes or actions. Very forgetable.

It's incidentally exciting but it's more of the Hollywood disposable entertainment and a poor use of Denzel's talent. Just my HO. (No, honest opinion, not my lady-of-the-night).

I loved this movie. I love how it starts off where they send they cut off the young boy's ear to send to his parents. Intense.

Denzel is hot.

Yes, he was trying to pay off his father's debt that was left on MA's shoulder after he died.

******SPOILER*******

I was so sad how it ended. You always hope the hero will squeeze out alive, but I guess that was the most appropriate/dramatic ending.
