Hi guys, I have tried the "Static URLs for phpBB using mod_rewrite" for the SEO optimization but the problem is my forum links directed into a wrong page(e.g. forum-1.html, forum-html). Am I missing something here? please help tnx
Well, basically yes, you are missing "something".
It means you either did something wrong or some other mod code is conflicting (please don't bother telling me which mods you have, I don't memorize every other mod authors code and probably wouldn't be able to tell you which is the culprit).
Try reinstalling the mod more carefully, and if you do everything right and still don't get it to work you might want to check to see if other mods are conflicting with the code.
I actually no other mods installed, I followed everything all the files from the able2know.zip but still no luck...do you think it's the problem with the mod_rewrite? you can look at the Edit (Moderator): Link removed and check all the forum links there....thanks Craven
The php end is working fine, you either do not have mod_rewrite enabled or you have applied the .htaccess code incorrectly.
Note: Please do not post links.
oh ok sorry for posting a link...but I just copied everything all the rewrite code for the htaccess...the htaccess file should be at the root directory right?
The forum's root directory (as indicated in the mod instructions).
