In one episode, Kristen Johnston becomes a waitress. She does okay, until she discovers tipping. After that she starts hijacking all the customers. {You call that a tip? I call it an invitation to an ass kicking}

@Robert Gentel,
That's exactly what happened to Larry Linville who portrayed the right-wing antagonist, Frank "Ferret Face" Burns, in M*A*S*H.

M*A*S*H transcended comedy what with many very poignant, dramatic episodes.

Another show I like I have a tough time to remember the title of, is My Name is Earl. Karma kicks his ass any time he gets away from fulfilling a quest to right every wrong he has done to others, over his entire lifetime. His trashy ex wife and her newest husband are a riot.

@Linkat,
My favorite scene from Frasier is Niles (played by the fantastic David Hyde Pierce) yelling (after he's finally joined a gym), "I'm gonna go pump some iron!"

And Frasier responds, "Niles, you don't even pump your own gas."

@jespah,
Cheers and Frasier were both ones I liked (and watched all of on netflix) but didn't love (like Frasier a bit more too). But the end of Cheers was the first time in my life I felt a sense of sadness or loneliness (not quite that, but that I'd miss the characters) at the ending of a TV show. It was weird, especially since the show had been over for decades at that point. I guess since I was watching that show for a month or so exclusively it was both not having anything on netflix to watch (the dreaded "show hole") but I actually felt like I would miss them.

Never ever happened to me with any other show or movie. Guess I did really like it after all.

Mad About You is probably on my top 10 list but what it really has is a lot of my favourite individual moments

@Robert Gentel,
Forgot Peep Show, that one is fantastic (though some of my friends can't get past its Britishness).

@jespah,
One classic The Simpsons episode is where Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce reprise their roles as brothers in "Brothers from Another Series."

WKRP ending of a classic episode. A promotion gimmick to celebrate Thanksgiving holiday went terribly wrong. Mr. Carlson, owner of WKRP, thought Turkeys could fly.

I was a little surprised nobody named the Honeymooners or I Love Lucy. They have been popular and rerun more than almost anything. I no longer have an interest in them, but I watched when they were slightly less old.

@edgarblythe,
When I was younger I saw every single episode of "I Love Lucy" in reruns during the 1970s. I only saw a few episodes of 'The Honeymooners" in reruns. Most of "The Honeymooners" reruns I never seen.

Like most people during the 1970s, everyone watched reruns of old television shows. Do you remember McHale's Navy, My Three Sons, Adams Family, Bewitch, Green Acres, Andy Griffith Show, Partridge Family, Brady Bunch, Hazel, The Flying Nun, Denis The Menace, Leave It To Beaver, That Girl, My Favorite Martian, Father Knows Best, and The Real McCoys?

@Real Music,
I know them all. Lots of these shows are still being rerun.
Very early sitcoms I watched were Life of Riley, Father Knows Best, Ozzie and Harriet, The Betty White Show, Topper, Julia, Amos and Andy, Patty Duke, My Three Sons, December Bride, Car 54 Where Are you and several more.

Some of the old sitcoms bring back good feelings and good memories. When and what channels still play these old shows?

Classic scenes from television show "Good Times"
Guest starring a very young Gary Coleman. This was prior to Gary Coleman getting his own sitcom later on called "Different Strokes"

Can I mention David Hasselhoff? He has been sending himself up mercilessly in the spoof docu drama Hoff the Record. I don't know if it's made it to America, but it's worth watching.
