We're as dark as the star,
That burns out before
The light where we are.
Though ebony wraps up
The sense of one's self,
There's always a face
That comes out from the pelf
Of helping and seeing and guiding
Us on.
And in that small moment,
Thereby lies the song.
dedicated to my neighbors, unknown and known
Who appeared out of nothing to help us along.
Tonight, as we floundered, my husband wandering among the trees of forgetfulness...lost in his own yard..his car that he loves..sitting useless..
And now it sits snug in its place
The metaphor of the small human race
There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I remember I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I'll love you more
In my life I'll love you more
dys, through the saline of clean honest tears,
Time and years vanish.
With love to you and Diane,
And all who feel.
Goodnight,
From Florida
