Games vs. Gadgets

Well, there's lots of different kinds of gadgets.

You'd probably consider me to be a kitchen gadget freak if you saw my house. I have a stand mixer, three Cuisinarts of various sizes, multiple electric grinders, hand mixers, wine openers, pro quality knives, and just about every kitchen hand tool imaginable, but no electric can opener.

Why no can opener? Because there isn't enough counter space!

I like video games - I have a Playstation 2 - but I don't even have a cel phone. I have two expensive digital cameras but prefer to use my ancient camera or my pocket camera. I have a computer but it doesn't have a sound card.

I DO have a Swiss Army Knife but probably the gadgetest thing I do actually use is a Pocket Wizard (its a doohickey that syncs your strobes to your cameras).

Anyway, all the very young boys at the used video game store think I'm a total freak because I seem to be the only adult woman who shops for herself in there.

I have a Roomba Discovery vacuum that I love the way other people love their dogs. But hey, while dogs make a mess, my pet cleans up the mess. I also have quite a bit of kitchen gadgets. A digital camera…

Is the Swiss Army knife the original "gadget" or are we counting the wheel?

Gadgets don't do much for me, but i am video game addicted . . .
