Okay, all I know is there is a woman and child (young girl I believe) something happens to them and thee male friend in the movie comes and puts in a small secret door in the child s room in case something else happens. The door is in the paneling below chair rail on the wall. Another thing, the small secret spot saves the child from being harmed/abducted. This is driving me nuts!!! I believe the male is the main character. He has dark hair

I don't know. I saw it on TV a few months ago, and it didn't match the guy's description of the movie he is looking for.
In Panic Room the shelter is already built when the mother and daughter move in to the brownstone, not put in by a guy after something happens. And the main character is not a male. The main characters are the mother and daughter. And the threat they face is not abduction.
