Why do judges sentence people to a terms in prison, that obviously exceed life expectancy. I heard some judge sentenced somebody to 300 years in jail. Others sentence people to several life sentences. What is the point of this?
Thank you.
I would assume that the point is that these people are NEVER getting out!
This certainly is point Phoenix, but suka asks good question nevertheless. What is, actually, point of sentencing someone to 125 years, or to few life sentences?
If you think that he/she shouldn't be allowed to be free ever again, sentence him to life without parole and that's it.
Well you never know - life expectancies are rising, you can't take any risks!
heheh, okay, but what about three life sententces for one guy? Judge consideres reincarnation as well?
Consecutive life sentences generally mean that the possibility of parole is diminished to zero.
