There is one 'common myth' that needs busting though - 2 trains (equal weight/mass etc) travelling at same speed (100 mph) DO NOT, upon impact, equate to a doubling (200mph) impact rate.
The object (either train) impacted ceases forward motion upon impact (as though it struck a mountain of Titanium) And, as we all know, If a train hits an unmoveable object (mountain of Titanium) at 100mph - The impact rate is 100mph - The impact rate cannot exceed the object that is moving fastest at equal or greater weight.
