Please help identify artist from his signature (coastal view)

How about showing the painting, any writing on the back, another detail from the painting? The canvas looks old - pre- 1950s - maybe to 1880s. The signature is strong and appears around turn of the century 1900. A detail of the frame would be nice.

It seems well painted and also well worn. There's several painters with a JW name that were noted for their skill with seascape from the 1880's - 1920's and this painting appears to me to be from this time frame. Any writing or tags on the back of the piece? I'd really like to see a detail photo of a corner of the stretcher which would really help in dating or placing a nation of origin on it. I think as worn as it is it could well be a modestly valuable painting. Very exciting and well one you for obtaining it.
