I Saw the Ending

When I was very young, and all the TVs broadcast in b&w, I caught on our 17" Zenith a piece of a movie that starred Shirley Booth and Burt Lancaster. It was on very late and I had to turn it off. But, I planned on watching it the next time it was shown. Over the years, it occasionally would air, but my schedule drew me away, as it approached the end, every time. One evening, as I readied myself for bed, I set the VCR to record it. I told my daughter to just let it finish on its own. Don't mess with the controls. She watched her show and then decided the VCR could now be turned off. Missed out again.
