mechanical love, I found you
you know how to smile, laugh, dance, and say that you love me
but never was real.
silly me, a machine can never feel
one Boolean value from true to false,
and it was all lost.
flushed from ram, your memories faded
leaving me confused, empty and jaded
calling out your name, I rushed to my lab
found every piece of intelligence I had
and began to build a better AI
one that had goals, emotions. I would try
day and night I coded in my underpants
my friends knocked but I didn't answer
C# had gripped my balls like a cancer
my node-based sentence parsing was almost complete
an object-oriented database to comprehend and classify
a logic based predictor, you could ask and it would answer
recursive algorithms distracted my pain
but with each compiler error I remember your name
your mechanical love will always confuse me
how could it be that you would just use me
stuh, I have read your poem several times before answering. I want you to know that your words are beautifully ribald, and quite different from anything that I have seen. Your excellent use of technology to suggest the robotics of love is quite overwhelming. Different--so different.
Applause!
letty,
I'm thrilled that you liked it. I was a bit unsure if I should post it, since I wrote it very quickly...
the interesting thing is, im really working on this AI right now...which is why i havent been on the forums as much lately.
the only false part is that im not building it to replace her...im not that creepy.
I know that, my friend. You have an unsung talent. May it always continue.
Tomorrow, then....
goodnight
