Fortune, what's a little spelling error between outpourings.
Damn. You just shattered my moment, all for the sake of a homonym.

It was a peculiarity of speech, gus, a turn of phrase, if you will. Rather like "Gus, go drown yerself in the swamp," or "Whatzit to you anyway ratzenhofer". You know, that sort of thing.

Thanks, yawl. I needed that...seriously.
ahem:
Life is too short?
Life is too long
and in the middle,
Somewhere is a song:
It never occurred to me,
That someday you may refer to me,
As someone, you used to know.
Never thought it would happen,
That you'd pass me by,
And I'd be left with just a memory
and a sigh.
It never occurred to me,
That some day you might prefer to be
In somebody else's arms
Never dreamed that I'd live to see the day that you'd pass me by.
It never occurred to me, til now.

and with that verse, I'll say goodnight
And then sing Afternoon Delight.
Don't forget to watch Discovery channel tomorrow evening.
They're gonna expose old Chris Columbus.

Quote:
Life is too short?
Life is too long
Feeling caught up with, Letty?
I feel that way often.
"I walked and I ran
just to go where I must
Saying...'come sweet nightfall'
To rest me I trust.
The rains came the wind blew
I stayed and I prayed
Busy - hard and steady,
yet dreamed of when I played.
In this twilight of growing, a fade has begun
I am watching the end creep, where I cease to run.
Some days, 'O tarry, I cry to on HIgh'
And then, 'O how long Lord?' Is my peaceful nigh?"
You're a poetic thinker, Letty, ever inspiring. Hang the homonyms

Beautifully written, Theo, as usual. Hey, gal. Poetry beats politics any old day, right?
Hanging homonyms is quite a chore,
There's always a homograph slipping in the back door.
Okay..Okay...so the meter wasn't quite right.

Poetry is about as far from Politics as one can get---
Yet I hear the campaigning spinners waxing poetic, striving to create an intense moment that will draw the voter.
Those are the moments when I REALLY do not trust them!!!
