Forgive me father,
or should I call you dad?
Dad you always were,
father never,
ever the bruiser,
the battler,
the one
holding the belt.
Forgive me dad,
for being too weak for you,
for trying to seek the goodness
I thought was in your heart.
Forgive me mom, for thinking
that this goodness
might be true.
Forgive me father,
for knowing
that enough is enough is enough.
Forgive me
for what I've done to dad.
Please father, do not be mad.
An eye for an eye.
I stand over him,
and try to understand
why
after this sad day,
the buried thoughts that ran astray,
I still love my dad.
Bless you Cav.
Heartfelt experiences like these help us to grow- despite the pain.
This is worded nicely.
Thank you tol. It was actually based on a story (embellished) about a friend of mine from high school.
