MythBusters and the Rise of Fact-Checking Everything

The widely acclaimed and beloved Discover channel show, The MythBusters is ending it's 14 season run (with its final season starting in Jan 2016). One of the reasons is its declining ratings on television.

Will there be a lasting impact on popular science? Have you stopped watching the show recently? If so, why?

Where and what will be the next big thing for Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, and the rest of the beloved gang?
