Where to add no conflict

I suck at programming but I love it nonetheless. I'm using unslider gallery and some other come. On first load, the banner works fine but if I do anything else (which uses some more jQuery function) the code for the banner is broken and it is displayed just like a normal ul. I've done some research and I think jQuery.noConflict(); is what I need to input but wherever I add this like of code, the problem persists. Any clues?
