Hi folks.
I receive notices on my Win10 machine that Win11 is available for free. Of course, I have a few questions for people who may have already jumped in the water.
1. Is it really absolutely free, or will I pay for something later?
2. Win10 is notorious for disrupting the HDMI function for years. Is this fixed in Win11?
3. What is the real difference between 10 and 11 anyway?
By the way, I did not choose Win10, it came installed with my new laptop. I wanted to dump 10 but was informed that Win7 is not compatible with the upgraded hardware that supports Win10... In my old laptops, I am still using worn but friendly-comfy Win7.
I was perfectly happy with windows 95.
But I still have 10 so can't respond to your question.
I remember Workshop for Windows 3. I was perfectly happy with that and a superfast 28kbs download, then I got spoiled...
56kbs, wow...
:-)

it was a fairly smooth transition from 10 to 11.
the thing i'm still struggling with a bit is when you right-click on a file, you get this:
they replaced
cut, copy, rename, share, delete with that row of icons.
however, if you click "show more options", you get the traditional right-click menu:
