Contract Law Timeshares

I have a timeshare that was a mistake. It was paid for but is not only worthless it is a debt that requires almost $1000 and it's every other year.

I have not paid the $1000 maintenance fee because I want to b done with it and there is no other way to get rid of it.

What I need to know is does the statute of limitations start with the last time I paid maintenance, or the last time I was billed and didn't pay, and does the stature begin again every other 2 years when they try to rebill me until they foreclose or send a deed in lieu?

I believe in Florida the contract law statute of limitation is 5 years.
