I thought no mythological figures in the Christian religion were female until about 400 or so AD when Mary was elevated to the rank of 'Queen of Heaven'. So that to me says Lucifer is male in the same way that a boat is typically considered female at the very least.

Now Satan the big red guy is male in every sense of the word. Because he is taken from the pagan religions where the horned god is the deity of the male aspects of the religion.
