Re: HELP !!!! With mysearchnow bar pop up
1) I skipped all the running processes, you didn't bother to cut down on any and save us research time and I need to be quick. So if you have running baddies then they may come back. Since you have a lot of junk running you probably have some.

2) Fix = use HJT to fix, Delete = Delete the file (backup to removeable media if you want to save copies, you may need to boot into safemode to delete), Uninstall = uninstall the program

Fix

Reboot and report your results. And BTW, if you keep downloading and installing the sheer volume of junk that you do, you should just accept life with trojans and spyware, you are not getting infected through exploits, you are installing them.

Craven, in niquolita's question I saw this line:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1

I have been searching for what the address "127.0.0.1" in my Internet settings is (it "magically" appeared Confused ) and this was the 1st post I saw.

Can anyone tell me just what that is, and how I can delete it? I run SBC-DSL, and have to physically remove this from my "Connections" "LAN Settings" each time I boot up and attempt to access the Internet. If I do NOT, I cannot gain access.

Thanks

It is the address of "localhost", i.e. your computer.

Basically it's sending your DNS requests back in a loop to your computer.

As to fixing it, start your own thread with a hijackthis log (if you don't know how start a thread on that) and someone will get around to helping you.
