A few weeks ago my Logitech cordless wheel mouse quite working. I installed new batteries, checked connections, etc but no good. I tried another cordless mouse, the kind that doesn't require a mouse pad, again nothing. I tried unstalling/reinstalling each of these. Nothing.
I hooked up my old MS wheel mouse with cord, went to System Restore, and everything worked fine. Then about two hours ago the mouse stopped working again. I went to System Restore and again everything seems fine.
I find System Restore a great panic-averter, but I wonder whether having to use it so often for the same problem is such a good idea. Is there something fundamentally wrong somewhere?
I have never had to use System Restor for mouse software. Have you tried installing new mouse software?
Next time this happens reboot instead of system restore, betcha it's the reboot and not the system restore that is fixing it.
