....The attack on Washington's proxy army shocked Washington's "experts," but it did not shock them enough to re-think the four year long effort to oust Syrian President Assad. It was this effort, of course, which created the atmosphere in which ISIS has over-run much of the country and threatens to take the rest of it as well. There was no ISIS in Syria before the US decided on regime change. This is similar to Iraq, where it was only the US invasion that produced a working al-Qaeda presence in the country. There was no al-Qaeda in Iraq prior to the US "liberation.".....

@gungasnake,
One has to give it to Assad that he played it very smartly, unlike Khadaffi. He created IS to divide the opposition and create an enemy, compared with whom, even he would appear moderate. And now he has obtained Russian support in exchange for who knows what concessions. It is now too late to take him out.

ISIS is a US creation. There's no way to believe that Assad had anything to do with it.

@gungasnake,
In President Putin's address to the Valdai discussion group, he made his intentions regarding the NWO crystal clear. He would brook no actions that further destabilise the middle east, or threaten Russian interests in the region.
