My PC's buggered!

Reply Sat 10 Jul, 2004 02:56 pm
My PC is running slow, and my homepage keeps changing to res://ctywh.dll/index.html#96676. I have run every spyware remover/virus scanner under the sun and none have fixed the problem. Spysweeper 2.6.1 did however detect CWS_N53 Hijacker but when I remove this (whatever it is) it just comes straight back. This is very frustrating problem , could anyone please help...before I am forced to format my hard drive & give life to my pc/internet all over again.

here is the log from Hijackthis:

Howdy:

First of all, disable System Restore..

Now, run another HighjackThis log and put a check beside and delete the following...

C:\WINDOWS\System32\cbhzljpg.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\appdl32.exe
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctywh.dll/sp.html#96676
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctywh.dll/sp.html#96676

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [crqf32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\crqf32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [apixk32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\apixk32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ieek32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieek32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [crgf.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\crgf.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ntbs32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbs32.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [mfcsr32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\mfcsr32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [mfclf32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\mfclf32.exe

Once that is done, reboot into Safe Mode and do a search for the following...

C:\WINDOWS\System32\cbhzljpg.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\appdl32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\cbhzljpg.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\crqf32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\apixk32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieek32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\crgf.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbs32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdkjs32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\crry32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\appdl32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mfcsr32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\mfclf32.exe

Delete all you find.. Once done, reboot normally and re-enable System Restore..
