Words spoken
into a dial tone,
seconds after you fade.
Maybe you hear them
deep in your heart,
Someday you will know for sure.
The phone is cold,
dead is my hands,
void of your Angelic voice.
I whisper the words
that I long to say
to you.
There will be no answer,
for they are spoken
to loneliness.
Some night, while you are cold,
they will comfort
you.
Some morning, at a rising sun,
they will inspire
you.
Some afternoon, running around,
they will make you
laugh and smile.
Some evening, at a multitudinously-hued sunset,
they will let you know
you are never alone.
But now they comfort
only darkness.
Inspire
only silence.
Laugh
only mockingly.
Know
all I long for.
Words spoken to darkness
in the depths of a lonely night.
"I Love You."
i like this one the most of the few you have recently posted. i think it has some great lines and good overral feel, although the flow could be improved a little still. keep it up
For once I can agree with stuh on this one! What he said!!
there will be no answer i think is the best line...
In my opinion. I THINK IT WAS WONDERFUL! I loved the way you could understand what was going on through the whole poem, i loved the way it was sad and yet hopeful. I love love loved it.
Just a suggestion: The line...
Some afternoon, running around,
they will make you
laugh and smile.
How about if we change that to read...
Some afternoon, running around,
kicking a soccer ball
they will make you
laugh and smile.
How do you like this arrangement?
